Mark J. Uhland, of Audubon, NJ, passed away suddenly, on Monday, Feb. 19, while on vacation in Mexico. With his dear girlfriend at his side, and never far from adventure, Mark left this earth on his own terms, over blue water, at the age of 58.
Born on Sept. 1, 1959, Mark (or “Monk”, as some of his friends knew him) grew up in Cherry Hill, was a graduate of Cherry Hill East and Lincoln Technical Institute, and was known for his active lifestyle and his love of motorcycling and the outdoors.
He leaves behind his two loving daughters, Katie (David Fritsche) of Stratford, and Stacey (Chris Daniele) of Voorhees, and his dear companion, Julie Reid.
Mark is survived by his siblings Joseph (Paula) of Hainesport, Jane Cudnik (Stan) of Ship Bottom, David (Deborah) of Villas, Helene Koseff (Warren) of Sweetwater, and Teri Uhland, of Manahawkin, wife of the late Robert Uhland, plus many nieces and nephews.
The son of Joseph and Helene Uhland, (deceased) he enjoyed a long career as a commercial HVAC specialist.
A member of the Local 322 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, as well as the Masonic Lodges of Beach Haven and Merchantville, Mark was always ready to join a motorcycle ride for charitable causes such as those by the Shriners Hospital and others. He belonged to the Royal Order of Jesters as well.
Other rides took him further afield, such as trips to Spain and Newfoundland, with brother Dave and friends, or to California, or Utah, or Bike Week in Daytona. He was an avid fisherman too.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family on Monday, Feb. 26th, from 6 to 9 PM at the Bradley Funeral Home at 601 Rt. 73 S., Marlton, NJ, 08053. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Church at 1439 Springdale Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08003 on Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private at a later date.
