Eileen Herdje (nee O’Connor), beloved mother and Nana, 77 yrs. old, of Mt. Laurel, NJ passed away on December 13. Born in Manhattan, Eileen spent her childhood years living in Parkchester, Bronx, NY with her brother and 4 sisters before her family moved to Long Island. Eileen graduated from Baldwin High School and was a longtime resident of Bellmore, NY.
Besides her favorite job of being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she also worked for many years at Liberty Mutual Insurance in Lynbrook and Uniondale, NY. Eileen was a wonderful cook and her Sunday morning bacon and eggs and Sunday night roasts will continue to be remembered and missed.
Eileen is survived by her daughter, Kristen Herdje Brennen (Stephen) and her two grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her adoring husband George “Brian” Herdje. Eileen is also survived by her sisters Shevawn and Liz and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Wednesday December 19th from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM at Bradley FH, Rt.73 and Evesham Rd., Marlton, NJ and Thursday From 9:15-10:15 AM at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic. Church, 349 Evesboro-Medford, Rd. Marlton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
