You were the most warm-hearted, accepting person I've ever met. I grew up in an area that was not very accepting of people. When I came to Kutztown, I immediately found confidence in you as a friend, as did the rest of The Breakast Club. You held us together, like gorilla glue, no Katie meant The Breakfast Club could not, was not whole. You made us laugh, and yours was a very distinct one. When you laughed, it was like the ladybugs and small beautiful insects you loved so much, paused, and listened. You found beauty where no others would. You demonstrated patience when others wouldn't. You had love for all things, big and small, tiny and tall. I remember spending late nights talking with you on the bleachers, under the trees, or outside of Berks. We contemplated everything, and you weren't afraid to tackle big questions: life, death, religion, world peace, homosexuality, everthing was acceptabe to you. The thing that struck me the most about you Katie, was your undying belief in humanity. You always found the good in everything, and in everybody. You saw hints of light when all I could see was darkness. In simpler, metaphoric terms, you could find the only blooming flower in a frozen field. You could get somebody to open up about their inner most workings and beliefs, and you were always concerned with the happiness of others, rather than your own. Your problems were pushed away so you could make time to help heal the world of others. I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for making me laugh. Thank you for making me cry. The joy and tears that you have brought into my life reminds me that life is simple, that love is really all you need. I will always smile fondly on our memories together. I will always cherish the tears I have shed, for the tears are a testimony to the beauty you brought into the world, into my world, and the world of others. May your soul forever rest in peace.
