Burial Services - Bradley Funeral Home

Whether you are preparing ahead or experiencing the sudden loss of a loved one, many people understandably struggle when making funeral arrangements. As a family-owned and oriented business, Bradley Funeral Home helps other families in the South Jersey area make the difficult decisions when arranging cremation or burial services. Our kind and compassionate team will handle the details so you can celebrate the life of your loved one.

Reasons for Choosing Burial

There are many reasons for choosing to have a burial. For some families, they have a history of traditional burial. They also may have a family-owned plot where they wish to place the body. Others choose burial because of cultural or religious reasons. Some prefer the body to be returned to the elements slowly or are simply uncomfortable with the idea of cremation. If you choose to visit the grave in the future, you may find a gravesite to be more appealing than a columbarium. All of these can be reasons for choosing burial over cremation.

There are specific costs that come with opting for burial. There's the casket, the grave marker or monument, and the plot within the cemetery. Be aware, each cemetery has its own prices and guidelines as determined by the board of directors. Some require grave liners or vaults. Others may charge maintenance fees for future upkeep on the gravesite.

Types of Burial

There are still choices remaining once you settle on burial as the preferred method. Interment is burial in the earth, but mausoleums and crypts are also available for above-ground burial. The choice between having a loved one entombed or interred is often influenced by family tradition and the options available at the preferred place of rest. A "traditional" earth interment usually consists of a viewing where the casket is present. This is sometimes followed by a church service and a graveside ceremony.

Decisions to Make if You Choose Burial

There are still a number of decisions to make after you’ve chosen burial:

  • Will you be opting for the body to be embalmed or not? (Many people don't realize they have this choice.)
  • Which type of casket will hold the body?
  • Will there be donations made in the name of the deceased?
  • Which cemetery will you use?
  • Where will you post the obituary, and what it will say?

We are professional, experienced, and compassionate about each situation, and we’ll help you make the best choices for your family. Bradley Funeral Home is available to you 24/7 if you have any questions or concerns regarding burial services.

We understand that this is a difficult time with many decisions to be made, but we encourage you to contact us to learn about the Bradley difference. Visit our Funeral Planning page for more support and guidance, or call Bradley Funeral Home today and we can help guide you through the process.
