Obituary for Laura M. Georigi

Laura M. Georigi
Laura Marie Georigi (nee Danenza) passed away peacefully this past Saturday, March 17, 2018. Our mom was in her home and surrounded by those that she loved and comforted by those who adored her. With the sun at her face and a warm, late afternoon breeze filling her room, she moved on. Her zeal for life was only surpassed by her unshakeable desire to live it. Mom was so much to so many and she cherished each and every role she played in our lives. She was a mother, a grandmother, an aunt, a sister, a cousin, a niece, a friend, and a neighbor. She lived for her family, treasuring each moment spent with us and then counting the minutes until the next. Her greatest joy of all was her grandchildren. Words fail in describing the honor she felt in being a grandmother. She was so very proud of Alec and Gillian and all that they were, and of the people they would grow to become. It was not uncommon to catch Mom dancing around her home with the music playing at a “neighbor disapproving” level while she cooked and baked and cleaned and read. She found comfort and joy in her home and delighted in playing the role of host. Our mom was part of several social groups -not least of which was a group that drank wine, as well as another that read books and drank even more wine. Mom danced. Mom golfed. Mom sang (often out of tune). She liked driving with the windows down and the volume up. Mom’s unflinching strength in life proved to be her greatest gift to those around her. Bolstered by her tireless faith in God and a steady determination to beat all odds, Mom gave us a few extra moments in time. We are so very fortunate to have had this woman in our lives and we are so very proud to be able to call her Mom. Laura was the beloved mother of Carl (Lisa) and Nicklas. Devoted grandmother of Alec Michael and Gillian Elyse. Dear sister of Patricia Victoria Millman, Albert Danenza, Gayle Stewart, Philip Stewart and the late Carol Ann Tubbs. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation 11am-12:30pm Thursday and to the Funeral Service 12:30pm Thursday at BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME, 601 NJ 73 South at Evesham Rd., Marlton, NJ. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. pancan.org
