Obituary for Brian J. Keiss

Brian J. Keiss
Brian Joseph Keiss
February 20, 1979 ~ August 18, 2018

When Brian was in high school I promised him a trip to Washington, DC. He teased me about going with 100 school children but never taking him so I made a promise that we would go together. (It only took 31 years!) Luckily we did it in May. We had a great trip. He was the best travel partner ever, including Walt! Every morning I woke up to orange juice and a muffin on my night stand. Not a bad way to start a day.
When he was younger sports were a big part of his life, often coached by his father. His soccer team, the Thunder, was State Champs two years in a row. The road trips with his brothers and buddies were great events.
While in High School, David and Brian played ice hockey for Holy Cross High School. That was hard for me because in soccer you go for the ball and in hockey you go for the man. I had trouble with that, but they loved it.
Brian graduated from Burlington County College with a Criminal Justice Major and continued to Drexel in Hospitality Management and had completed three years when he dropped out. He worked in many restaurants ending up working in heating and air conditioning which he loved.
He got engaged last September, to his fiancee, Kerri, on the bank of the Delaware River where he lived in an apartment. His goal was to buy a house in a year. He couldn’t wait to start looking. Wherever we drove, houses entered our conversations. A small rancher, lots of grass, near work and if he was lucky, it would be near water.
Kevin and I miss him already.
